Mauler
I have been taking the time to paint new front arc's on a lot of my older models and now that they have bases and front arc's ready I feel like they are finally ready to share with the world. This model has been through a lot. To start off the week that I got him painted he was out on my desk and my little 2 year old decided to climb up on the computer tower to reach him and then dropped him and since then he has had a few dings in his paint and a broken tooth. I did not glue the tooth in right away and now I cant even find the little thing so he has been without a tooth for a few years... I did take a little bit of red and clean up his hair since that is where most of the chipped paint was. Here he is!
The Mauler is the reason I chose Trollbloods as a faction. I still remember talking to my older brother and him saying something along the lines of modeling/painting is going to be 80% of the hobby. He was right on the money I am sure I have spent lots more time gluing and painting these models than I have played them. We walked into my local hobby store, and as I was walking along looking at the models on the wall I thought to myself, "what ones do I like the look of?" Since that is how I decided, this one stuck out to me and to this day I think it is one of the best looking sculpts in all the factions.
In addition to his awesome look the Mauler is an awesome beast one of the only beasts that are Fury 5. He has an animus that everyone wants +3 Str to a Warbeast makes even light beasts pack a punch. Since he is such a staple I own 2 of them. I got my second one on discount since a kid at my local store was wanting to get out of the faction and only had a few pieces so I was able to get some used models for a great price.
The Mauler has a great ability that allows him to, if both his claws hit, do a Power Attack on the model that he just hit. I cannot tell you how many times I have charged in and dropped 2x fully boosted attacks then boost a throw and wreck an enemy heavy and knock down another important model for my other models to charge in and wreck.
Your best work yet, one of my favorites along with the Warders
